JCCV Appeal Goes Live

14 March 2013

The JCCV launched its annual fundraising appeal at its inaugural campaign launch event at the home of Nina and Bob Bassat.

Naomi Milgrom AO, Group Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Sussan Group was the keynote speaker at the event, and she spoke passionately and eloquently about ‘Women and Business’ and more specifically about the role and development of women in leadership.  She highlighted the extraordinarily high percentage of women in leadership positions in her business as well as highlighting the strong female leadership on the JCCV Executive including Nina Bassat (President), Jennifer Huppert (Vice President) and Helen Light (immediate past Vice President).

Respected businessman and community leader Jack Gringlas, formally launched the JCCV fundraising appeal and invited guests and the Jewish community overall to get behind the campaign so that the JCCV’s vital work in the areas of Shoah remembrance, Child Protection, Youth Alcohol, Inter-faith bridge building, Youth leadership and development, and building Government support & advocacy for the Jewish community and Israel could continue.

Mr Gringlas also invited donors to consider becoming patrons of the JCCV, to join with some of the patrons in attendance by making a major contribution to the JCCV’s work.  Potential patrons were advised to contact the JCCV to discuss this opportunity.

The evening concluded with David Marlow, Executive Director of the JCCV outlining some of the major work currently underway and planned for 2013.  JCCV is celebrating its 75th anniversary as the Voice of Victorian Jewry, and Mr Marlow asked that people “not to be too embarrassed to donate generously so that the important work of the JCCV could continue.”
