JCCV Statement on the Paris Terrorist Attacks

12 January 2015

The Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV) joins with the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (the JCCV’s national representative body) in condemning the despicable terrorist attacks in France which took 17 innocent lives.  These attacks by radical Islamists on the Jewish people, a free media and the French community are attacks on all people who value peace and freedom.  Our thoughts and prayers  are with the victims and their families.

We also applaud the French police and security personnel of all religions and backgrounds who risked and in some cases lost their lives in defence of a free society from violence and evil.

We call on all to reject hatred and intolerance, and to embrace mutual respect, dialogue and harmony.

David Marlow
Executive Director
